What is a 50/50 in Minesweeper?
A 50/50 is a situation where two cells are equally likely to contain the mine and no logical deduction can tell you which one. Both arrangements satisfy every number constraint on the board. You must guess. Common 50/50 locations are isolated corners, end-of-wall segments, and detached mine groups. Standard Minesweeper boards are not always fully solvable without guessing. On Minesweeper.now, No-Guessing mode generates boards that are fully solvable by logic: you will never face a true 50/50, so every loss is a logical mistake rather than bad luck. Standard mode retains 50/50s as part of the natural difficulty.
