Understanding the Metrics
- 3BV (Bechler Board Value) is the theoretical minimum number of left-clicks needed to solve a board. Larger, more open boards have higher 3BV.
- 3BV/s is 3BV divided by solve time - the standard measure of minesweeper speed. Higher is better. Elite Expert players exceed 3.0 3BV/s.
- Efficiency is your actual click count compared to the minimum (3BV). 100% means every click was optimal. Values above 100% are typical because flags count as clicks; chord-heavy play reduces wasted clicks.
- World records are the fastest ranked completion times for each difficulty on this platform. They update instantly when a new record is set.
- Total ranked wins reflect competitive engagement. The Wins by Difficulty chart shows where the community plays most - useful for understanding competitive context.
Pro Tips
- 3BV/s above 2.0 on Expert is competitive. If you are working toward a world record position, tracking your 3BV/s over time is more meaningful than tracking raw time - it controls for board difficulty.
- Efficiency above 120% is excellent. Most players hover between 90% and 130%. Values far above 150% typically indicate over-flagging - reducing flags and relying more on chording will bring efficiency into an optimal range.
