Minesweeper FAQ
Quick answers: how to play, what numbers mean, chording, 3BV, no-guessing mode, and more.
Quick Reference
- Left-click to reveal a cell. Right-click to place or remove a flag. Chord (click a revealed number while all adjacent mines are flagged) to mass-reveal safe cells.
- 3BV/s (3-Board Value per second) is the primary competitive metric - it measures how many logical cell-groups you clear per second, normalised for board complexity.
- No-Guessing mode generates boards that are fully solvable by logic alone. Every cell can be deduced - no guessing required at any point.
- Your rank is driven by your total trophy score across 10 categories - from Novice at 0 trophies up to Apex at 1,200+. Trophies never decrease when you lose.
- Visit the Website Rules page for the full fair play policy and behaviour guidelines.
