Events

Events are the competitive heartbeat of Minesweeper.now - monthly challenges where every game you play contributes to a running score. Earn event currency, climb the leaderboard, and cash out your points in the event shop for exclusive gems, equipment, and cosmetics.

Key Points
  • Events run from the 4th of each month at 00:00 UTC to the end of that month.
  • Spin the Wheel of Fortune daily to receive a colored shard that determines how you earn event points.
  • Each shard unlocks a different scoring formula - pick the style that matches your strengths.
  • The event shop stays open for 3 extra days after the event ends, giving you time to spend.
  • Unspent event points convert to honor points when the next event begins - nothing is wasted.
  • A Championship runs in the second half of every month for 3 focused days.
Monthly Schedule

Every event follows a fixed monthly rhythm. Knowing the schedule lets you plan ahead - save your best play sessions for when you have an active streak bonus or an upcoming Championship window.

How to Participate

Participation is automatic - there is no sign-up. As long as an event is running, every game you play counts. Follow these steps to maximise your event score each day:

1
Spin the Wheel of Fortune. Visit the event page each day and claim your free spin. You may receive bonus spins based on recent activity. Each spin assigns a colored shard and a special bonus quest.
2
Read your shard. Your shard color defines the scoring formula active for that day - for example, a Red shard rewards speed-based play, while an Orange shard rewards clean, high-efficiency games.
3
Play to your shard's strengths. Choose a difficulty and game mode that best fits the formula. A Purple (streak) shard is best used on a difficulty you can win consistently; a Black (custom) shard rewards high-difficulty boards.
4
Complete the bonus quest. Every Wheel of Fortune spin also generates a bonus quest tied to the shard's style. Completing it grants extra event points on top of your normal scoring.
5
Spend before the shop closes. After the event ends, the shop stays open for 3 days. Log in during that window to redeem your points for gems, equipment, and exclusives.
Wheel of Fortune - Shard Reference

The Wheel of Fortune assigns one of nine shard colors. Each color activates a distinct scoring formula capped at a daily maximum. Shards reset every midnight UTC - spin early so you can play with your shard for the full day.

ShardGame StyleScoring FormulaDaily Cap
Red Standard, speed 0.0375 × 3BV/s × Difficulty Uncapped
Blue Speed, No-Flag 0.05 × 3BV/s × Difficulty Uncapped
Orange Efficiency 25 × Efficiency% 10,000 pts
Purple Win streak 25 × streak (max: 50 × Difficulty) Scales
Black High-difficulty custom boards 0.05 × Diff + 0.00125 × 3BV 10,000 pts
Cyan No-Guessing 0.1 × Difficulty Uncapped
Green Multiplayer wins 2.5 per win Uncapped
Pink Fortune quest only Bonus quest reward Quest only
Lime Arena 25 × (Efficiency% + Speed) Uncapped

Note: Difficulty in all formulas refers to the board's numeric difficulty score, not the preset label. Custom boards can push these scores significantly higher than standard Expert.

Championship

The Championship is a 3-day focused sprint that runs in the second half of each event month. Unlike the main event - which rewards consistent daily activity - the Championship is about a single peak performance in a specific play style.

Your best single result during the Championship window appears on the leaderboard. Final rank at the end of the 3 days awards event points - the higher your rank, the larger the reward. Focus all energy on one perfect run.
Event Shop & Rewards

Spend your event points in the event shop, which rotates stock each month. Typical offerings include rare gems (Sapphire, Diamond), equipment, and exclusive cosmetics that cannot be obtained elsewhere. Shop stock is announced at event start.

Tips for Maximising Event Points
Pro Tips
  • Spin every single day. Each spin grants both a scoring shard and a bonus quest. Missing a day means losing two separate reward sources, not just one.
  • Match difficulty to your shard. For Red and Blue (speed-based) shards, higher difficulty multiplies the formula significantly. Drop down only if you're struggling to win consistently.
  • Orange shard = efficiency sessions. Cap is 10,000 pts. On a good Orange day, focus purely on clean chording rather than speed - a slow 110% efficiency game scores better than a fast 80% one.
  • Save your best form for the Championship. The Championship leaderboard uses a single best result, so choose a day in that 3-day window when you feel sharp and warmed up.
  • Spend event points before they roll over. Honor points are less valuable than event shop gems - check the shop on the last day and spend whatever you can before it closes.
  • Lime shard = Arena gains. If you hold high-level arena tickets, a Lime day is the ideal time to burn them - you score event points and arena points simultaneously.
