What is chording in Minesweeper?
Chording means clicking a revealed number after flagging the correct number of adjacent mines. The game instantly reveals all remaining unrevealed neighbors in one action. For example: if a 3 has three flags placed around it, left-clicking the 3 clears every other neighbor simultaneously. This is one of the most important techniques in competitive Minesweeper because it clears large areas with single clicks instead of many. On Minesweeper.now, chording works on desktop with a left-click on the number and on mobile with a tap once the correct flags are in place. Mastering when to chord versus when to reveal individually is central to improving your efficiency score.
