Is the first click in Minesweeper always safe?
Yes, on every modern Minesweeper implementation including Minesweeper.now. The board generates after your first click, so that cell is guaranteed safe. Most implementations also guarantee the surrounding cells are clear, giving you an open area to start from. Older versions like the original Windows Minesweeper did not always guarantee this, which is why some players remember losing immediately. On Minesweeper.now you can click anywhere on your first move without risk. Beating a board in one click is theoretically possible on very low-mine custom boards, but practically never happens on standard difficulties.
