What are the difficulty levels in Minesweeper?
Standard Minesweeper has three classic difficulties. Beginner is a 9x9 grid with 10 mines, good for learning patterns and building click speed. Intermediate is 16x16 with 40 mines, a strong training ground for competitive play. Expert is 30x16 with 99 mines and is the global benchmark for speed records and ranked competition. Minesweeper.now also offers Custom mode where you set any grid size and mine count, and No-Guessing mode available at all difficulties. Ranked matchmaking on Minesweeper.now is based primarily on Expert performance.
