About Minesweeper.now
Minesweeper.now is a competitive Minesweeper platform: the classic game, plus the things the classic game never had — verified times, a global ranking, boards that are guaranteed solvable without guessing, and the measurements competitive players actually use.
Who runs it
The site is built and written by Henrick, who develops the platform and writes every strategy guide on it. There is no content team and no outsourced writing — if a guide is wrong, one person is responsible for it, and corrections go straight to the contact page.
How No-Guessing boards work
Standard Minesweeper can deal a position that no reasoning resolves: two covered cells, one mine, and nothing anywhere on the board that separates them. That is a genuine coin flip and it ends runs that were played perfectly.
No-Guessing mode removes it. Every board is generated and then run through a solver that attempts to clear it using only deduction. If the solver reaches a point where it would have to guess, the board is discarded and another is generated. You only ever see boards that survived that check, so every position you face has a logical answer — the difficulty is in finding it, never in gambling on it.
How times are verified
A ranked game is recorded move by move, not just as a final number. The board layout is committed to the server when the game starts, and the sequence of clicks is submitted with the result, so a time cannot be produced without a corresponding, consistent game. Results that fail those checks do not enter the leaderboard. The full policy is on the fair play page.
Where the numbers on this site come from
- Percentiles in Is My Time Good? are computed from every active ranked time on this site, not from a rule of thumb.
- Board specs and densities are the standard configurations: 9×9 with 10 mines, 16×16 with 40, and 30×16 with 99.
- Pattern claims in the guides are verified by exhaustive enumeration of every mine placement consistent with the numbers shown, not by repeating convention.
- World records are attributed to the authority that verified them, because the figures genuinely differ between verifying bodies.
What it costs
Playing is free and always has been, with no account required to start. An account adds leaderboard placement, saved times, trophies and daily quests. A premium tier removes ads and adds cosmetics; nothing behind it affects gameplay, board generation or ranking.
